Zoos bad! I'm all for getting "in touch" with animals but not like that... Same with any animal kept as a pet that has to be confined in a bowl, cage or terrarium. Thanks Deirdre!
This was so much fun. A great way to get to know you in fun little ways. Internet surveys were all over during the MySpace-era early days of blogging, and I loved reading them; my best friend compiled them all and made a massive 2,200 question one. This is much better in length.
Like you, journaling did and has meant a lot to me. Sometimes that was enough to feel good enough to keep moving forward. I’m glad it served you too and that you are here.
I'm really not exaggerating when I say journaling saved my life, things could have got much worse if I hadn't been able to slow down my racing anxiety and catch my breath on the page. I feel like it is right up there with meditation in terms of benefits. Thanks Michael!
I want to know what you lie about at restaurants? To be candid, I say the food is good when I don't think it is. What's yours, Mr. Troy Ford? I think I got the answer in the other comments. But do confirm, if you might. I simply think these folks work so hard, why make it harder unless the food is about to make one ill?
I'm the same, Mary - "Absolutely delicious!" I'll squeal, even when it's salty or bland AF. I also don't like leaving bad reviews on Google or Yelp, life's hard enough. People will figure out if they like or not, just don't go back if you don't like it.
Such fun! Did you find it easy or hard to answer the questions? Enjoyed getting to know a little more about you. I love your open, honest approach to life and divulging personal issues. Next time we talk, I will remember to carry the conversataion by myelf 😁Fondly, Michael
I kinda love questionnaires, they give me a chance to mull over my answer. This one is kinda fun and lightweight, not too hard. As far as our chats are concerned, you are an engaging conversationalist who draws me out, so we can just carry on as we have... 💛
Wonderful idea! I’ve been an admirer of the Proust Questionnaire for a while. Never thought to try it myself. My 3-year anniversary is this month, too. ☺️ Love what you say in #22 about addiction. Exactly yes. 🙌
Such a fun one, Troy. Almost three years in and your humour is still as enjoyable as ever. I mean, so many of your answers had me giggling, this one in particular—
“What is your current state of mind?
Wildly unimpressed.” Hehehe
Also, your answer to number one — the cottage, the garden, a book out every year or two — sounds delightful!
Well that was delightful and I feel that I know you better, even after reading you regularly for three years. I may try this myself. Tell me, did you carefully write and edit these answers, or were they off the cuff?
What an intro! Thanks for this joyous post. And hello from Andalucia. 👋
Thank YOU Jessica! Waving from Sitges 🙌
Lovely getting to know you a little bit, Troy! This is a fun questionnaire.
Thanks Tiffany!
I've obviously led a sheltered life - Proust but no Proust Questionnaire! It was fun to read and good to know a little more about you, Troy.
I didn't know about it until Substack either, a couple people use it for their interviews and I've been meaning to post it for awhile. Thanks Jeffrey!
I love all of these answers Troy! And I agree about zoos they should be banned.

Thanks brother :)
That might be the only answer that didn't get tweaked - I was born this way. Thanks Michael!

You should do, I feel like me as the control group veers a bit ridiculous so we'll need some more dignified iterations... ;)
Bit off the cuff, bit reworked - it's like The Locomotion -
Do it nice and easy now, don't lose control
A little bit of rhythm and a lot of soul
