Thank you so much Adam, and thanks for the Note! I'm very curious about your Camino de Santiago journey, just starting to dig in... :)

This was great!

Humorous which suits the niche nicely

And relatable too! When I came to substack and heard the niche advice (over and over again) I too wondered how the hell I was gonna squeeze all the stuff I like to write about into a niche.

I opted for the cheeky out of being, “The Curious Platypus” because then I can write about whatever strikes my curiosity and the platypus because that furry freak wasn’t fond of categories (or should I says niches).

Thanks.

Thanks! Love a good curiosity, in the "Cabinet of..." sense, so your approach is right down my alley. Also platapuses have venom, so you can throw a little slap in with your tickle - nice choice. :)

Yeah I’m actually Australian so the platypus has a few layers of meaning for me.

And I’m actually working on a piece about platypuses now, so I just recently learnt that they had venom - they are a very interesting creature indeed.

Thanks.

Keep experimenting, you have an amazing voice and wonderful things to share with others! I'm also trying to find my focus, but I'll probably end up writing on a bunch of different things.

You are definitely Nicheable!

The dictionary also calls a niche, "a comfortable or suitable position in life or employment." Can a writer ever be comfortable? Who determines what is suitable? You left "humorist" out of your ism list. Perhaps a gay humorist? Not as depressing as most of the others...
